Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Night's Allright.

Just before I left for work today I checked the mail. My first letter from a school: rejected.

I'm surprised it didn't upset me more, but I think it's in part because I've been so pessimistic that I wasn't surprised, and in part because I've been preparing myself for the idea that life will go on if I don't get in. I'll still have a job, a place to live, someone to love, and things to write.  As the night's wearing on though, the rejection's starting to hit me more.

In addition, I'm at work, and the event tonight's a battle of the bands. The band playing right now is only playing Bon-Jovi songs, and the singer is off key. I keep trying tell myself: "just think, a year from now you could be in another state, in a quiet library, doing some research or some great writing." But then I hear "It's my liiiiiiife it's now or never... I ain't gonna live forever!" in some frat dude's cracking voice, and I just don't know what's going on anymore.

How are you spending your Saturday night?

I'm trying to get from A to D to E without looking at the frets, and watching Venture Bros., Season One.

The Word Ver is "Mothess." You know what it reminds me of?

MOTHRA!!
